Article VII: Committees
The Standing committees shall be: Audit, Nominating Membership, Publications/Public Relations, Program Committee and Membership Committee.
Section 1: The audit committee shall consist of not less than three members, none of whom shall be on the executive board, who shall be appointed by the president at least four weeks before the annual meeting. The audit committee shall examine the treasurer’s accounts of the fiscal year and submit a report in writing at the annual meeting signed by all members of the audit committee.
Section 2: Nominating Committee
(a) The nominating committee shall be elected each year at the November annual meeting to serve for one year. It shall consist of three members, one of whom shall be selected by the executive board from its own body and two of whom shall be elected by the membership. The chair shall be appointed by the president from these three.
(b) The committee shall nominate one member for each office. It shall also nominate two members for next year’s nominating committee. The proposed slate shall be presented for election at the November annual meeting at which time additional nominations may be made from the floor.
(c) The proposed slate of officers, whenever possible, should represent diverse geographical sections of the state.
Section 3: Publications/Public Relations Committee
(a) The association shall sponsor the publication of a newsletter, which shall be printed and mailed to each member at least four times a year, and at such other times as is deemed necessary.
(b) The publications committee shall be responsible for printing and distributing the newsletter and any other publications which shall be approved by the association.
(c) It shall be the responsibility of the Committee to keep the public informed of the association’s activities through press releases to the public as requested by the association or executive board.
Section 4: Program Committee
(a) The committee shall be responsible with the President for selecting a person to direct and conduct the association’s annual Garden Symposium.
(b) The committee shall be responsible to coordinate and assist the President and Extension Service in providing programs and activities statewide for Master Gardeners.
Section 5: Membership Committee
(a) The committee shall be responsible for conducting the annual membership enrollment.
(b) The committee shall be responsible for publishing the Membership Directory.
