CMGA attempted to establish Focus Groups associated with each Extension Center several years ago. Each group was to determine in own purpose and mission in alignment with the CMGA mission, then meet monthly to execute the projects and activities it envisioned and planned. These groups are a great way to connect locally with other CMGA members to teach, learn, provide outreach and education, and have a good time while doing so!
Today, two Focus Groups still exist. We'd love to have members associated with each of the Centers form a group (or if you already have one established and we don't know about it, let us know!) CONTACT US.
Middlesex County Focus Group was established in 2006. Its mission is to:
-Present opportunities for Master Gardeners at all levels to teach and learn in a collaborative environment;
-Provide forums for researching and experimenting with organic gardening; and
-Enhance sustainable living practices through community outreach and education.
The Model Community Garden's mission is to:
-Deliver fresh produce to community food banks/soup kitchens during the growing season; and
-Offer the community an ongoing teaching and learning tool for organic horticultural practices throughout the year.
