The Norwalk Health Department in conjunction with the Department of Recreation and Parks are looking for volunteers to help start up a community garden on a 9 acre track of land in urban Norwalk. Master Gardeners are needed for planning and teaching and giving gardening talks.

Master Gardener volunteers needed to help revitalize Butterfly and Bird Gardens, Wildflower Garden and Woodland Garden.
The center would also like to develop a diagram of the Butterfly and Bird Garden as well as a handout brochure for visitors. Speakers wanted for gardening lectures and presentations such as Organic Gardening techniques, Sustainable Lawn Practices, Invasive Plant Identification and Control, and other gardening topics.

Garden restoration at hospice-affiliated grief counseling center for children and adults. The gardens include a water garden, maze, meadow area, and formal garden area. A plan for an interactive plant walk is being developed.
Horticulture therapy with residents of this non-profit nursing home and assisted living facility. Other projects include design and installation of a wheelchair-accessible serenity garden and a research project on interior plantscapes for a new wing in the facility.
