UConn Cooperative Extension System Advanced Master Gardener Program

The following incentives are being offered to any Certified AMG wishing to advance their status.

Bronze 40 classroom hours and 80 outreach hours
Silver 60 classroom hours and 100 outreach hours
Gold 80 classroom hours and 140 outreach hours
Ruby 100 classroom hours and 180 outreach hours

These hours will be cumulative, adding on to the previous earned hours of 20 classroom and 40 outreach hours that was initially achieved for their AMG certification.

Unlike the initial AMG time requirement (earned over 3 years) these AMG levels will have no time restrictions placed on them.

Leslie Alexander: State Master Gardener Coordinator

Leslie Alexander (pictured at right) is the State Master Gardener Program Coordinator, appointed by the University of Connecticut Plant Science Department.

Leslie has a strong horticultural background and much teaching experience. She received a B.S. in Biology from Framingham State College and her M.S. in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Massachusetts. She has taught middle school, high school and college level classes and presents many classes in the Master Gardener Program. Since 2005, she has been employed on a half-time basis at the UConn Home & Garden Education Center. Leslie’s full-time position is split between the Center and the Master Gardener Program.

leslie
